The Life of a Biology Major !

Welcome to my e-Portfolio! I'm Porshea Jackson-Miller and I'm majoring in Biology with a concentration in Biotechnology.My experience with the Biological science department has been a journey. When i first entered Winston Salem State I was undecided in my field I wanted to study. While talking to some faculty including my advisor I became interested in learning more about science and most of all working hands on in the lab. Being a part of this department has been an impact on my life and school study because I came in knowing little to no knowledge of science and research labs, to understanding and analyzing the information I am being taught. My professor has taught me to take the information I've learned in one class and carry it over to another class to see how the classes connect even tho they might not be the same class. I like to look at it as a chapter book each class is a new chapter to prepare you closer to the end. My best moments in the Biological science department is working in the Laboratory. Working hands on has really helped me understand the materials of the class and the purpose of the materials we are learning. My future goal is to take what I've learned and use it towards a forensic program and work in their lab.
